Having purchased an idyllic country house in the Yorkshire dales we needed to upgrade the windows. Part of our criteria was to upgrade to double glazing but living in a listed building and conservation area there are strict criteria’s regulating replacement windows and glazing which are a minefield! After approaching a few other companies we were recommended Broadleaf by a friend. As soon as we contacted them we felt at ease with their knowledge and understanding of our requirements. Guiding us through the planning process was a great relief. To enable us to change the windows we had to replace them like for like. We were delighted when James was able to have some “cutter” specially made to match the existing timber profiles exactly! Now that is like for like! One day we received a phone call inviting us down to the workshop to see the windows been made. We thought it’s an opportunity not to be missed! Visiting was a great insight to the work that goes into creating a sash window is unbelievable and the smell of freshly planed timber is simply gorgeous! During the visit we even got to assemble part of our windows. It’s a nice feeling to know we’ve had part creating our windows! Having the windows pre painted not only save us money it saved us time and effort having to find a painter to complete them. It also provided an instant finish when they had been fitted. Having endured a winter since completion we are delighted with the performance of them and the special “conservation double glazing. It certainly helps to keep the house warmer while saving money on the energy bills.
Thank you for an excellent service.
